Flush Mount Wedding Albums – The 7 Things you need to know

We have been making flush mount wedding albums since 2005.  That’s a long time!  We went from making flush mount albums for photo labs to becoming the “go to” folks for professional photographers.  In the last couple of years we began selling flush mount wedding albums directly to the bride and groom.

Over the years we have spoken to thousands of clients… professional photographers, newly weds, and folks that have been married for for years that are just getting around to having a flush mount wedding album made.

Over these years, as you can imagine, we have given flush mount wedding album advise to many, many people!

So, here you go.  Here are the 7 things you need to know to make perfect flush mount wedding albums.

  1. Pick your absolute favorite wedding pictures

Don’t choose the ones that you think you should choose.  Choose your favorites! Very important. Often we like something for the feeling we had in that moment or even more abstract reasons that you may not even understand until much later – if at all. so follow your intuition and pick the pics you like!

  1. Think chronologically.

The album will tell a story, no matter how you put it together, but keeping your favorites in chronological order makes that process easier – not only for the person who will see it but also for you.  Wedding photographers should be delivering the image files to you in chronological order, so this should be easy!

  1. Let the photos speak for themselves.

That’s the beauty of pictures. People bring their entire lifetime of experiences and ideas to the table and what they see in a picture may be totally different than what you felt – doesn’t matter. In the end, it will be what it will be.

  1. Choose more color

If your wedding was more colorful (and vice versa). Probably a no brainer for the more ‘colorful’ folks as they bring their ‘flair’ with them wherever they go.

  1. Lay out one spread at a time.

A lot of times, its easier to just focus on one spread at a time. standing at the bottom of the mountain, every time you look up it looks impossible, but if you just look 5 feet up, then you find a way to get to that place. Then the next 5 feet and so on. Before long, you’ve gotten to the top of the mountain

  1. Have photos that represent the big ceremony moments.

This will be pretty easy. To me, it goes back to picking YOUR favorites. Choose the big ceremony moments that have meaning to you.

  1. Don’t procrastinate.

Over time you lose some small memories and other things (life) cloud your perception. If you can swing it, working on this sooner rather than later, seems to help most of our clients.

If you follow these tips you will be able to make your flush mount wedding album with ease.  Of course, at WeddingAlbumStudio.com we will take your hand through the process.  We take care of making the perfect flush mount wedding album design for you.  If you want, you can just send us your images.  We can choose the best ones, create the first draft of your design, and work with you to make it perfect.
